Hey Nordic fans!
This is the event that represents the start of the holiday season, and what a better way to do so!? We have great snow, and the feeling is upbeat!
We need a few more volunteers to course marshal and to help timing crew. All volunteers need to be at the yurt no later than 9 AM for assignments. Sue can request show up time for timing volunteers.
So here some info:
Race start time: 10:00
Start/Finish area: Teaching lanes by yurts
Registration: No online registration available. Register at Tamarack Ski Center on Saturday 8-5 and Sunday 8-9
Race distances: 10 K or 5 K open to juniors and adults (recommending U16 and up for juniors for these distances).
3K for U14 and under.
Order of Go: 10:00 all 10K and 5K
10:05 for 3K
Bibs: White=10K, Blue=5K, Red=3K
Tentative course: Everyone starts up Twin Lake Rd
Right on Lake Mary Rd
3K turns down Warlis and heads for finish (back down Twin Lakes and into teaching lanes)
5K continues to Pokonobe, then counter-clockwise around Lk Mary, right down Lk Mary Rd, down Warlis and Twin Lakes to finish in teaching lanes
10K passes Pokonobe, turns into Lower Eastside, immediate right on Sidewinder, left on Lk Mary Rd, left into Upper Eastside, right into Sidewinder, right on Lk Mary Rd, then counter-clockwise around Lk Mary at Pokonobe, and finish the same as other events.
We have no exact distances for these races, but the 5 and 10K races might be tough long in each case...close enough for a fun race!
We will have a board with race course details on Sunday morning.
See you there!!!
