The Eastern Sierra Nordic Ski Association (ESNSA) is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cross-country skiing and biathlon in the Eastern Sierra. Our mission is to foster a lifelong passion for skiing while developing responsible, resilient, and self-motivated athletes. Through world-class coaching and community support, we strive to help every skier reach their fullest potential—on and off the snow.
As part of this mission, ESNSA provides financial assistance to athletes who might otherwise be unable to participate in Nordic programs. These scholarships are made possible by the generosity of our members and the success of our community fundraising efforts throughout the year. Every dollar raised is reinvested in the Nordic community—supporting scholarships first, and then funding essential program needs such as wax, tools, uniforms, and equipment that benefit all athletes.
It’s important to note that ESNSA operates independentlyand is not affiliated with Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. We are a grassroots organization powered entirely by our members, volunteers, and donors. ESNSA does not collect or review personal financial records to verify need; instead, we trust in the honesty and integrity of our applicants. Our guiding belief is simple: no junior athlete should be left behind due to financial hardship.
To sustain this vision, we require all scholarship recipients and their families to actively support ESNSA by volunteering at a minimum of two local events each season. Your participation is essential to keeping this program vibrant, inclusive, and community-driven—ensuring that the opportunity to ski, grow, and give back continues for generations to come.
